Background

This Policy applies as between you, the User of this Web Site and/or App and Helen Taylor Author the owner and provider of this Web Site and App. This Policy applies to our use of any and all Data collected by us in relation to your use of the Web Site, App and any Services or Systems therein.

Definitions and Interpretation

In this Policy the following terms shall have the following meanings:

means collectively the Personal Data and credentials used by Users to access Material and / or any communications System on the Web Site or Apps;

means the app that you accessed this website from.

"Content"

means any text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, data compilations and any other form of information capable of being stored in a computer that appears on or forms part of this Web Site or App;

means a small text file placed on your computer by Helen Taylor Author when you visit certain parts of this Web Site. This allows us to identify recurring visitors and to analyse their browsing habits within the Web Site. Further details are contained in Clause 10 and Schedule 1 of this Policy;

means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, but is not limited to, Name, email address, telephone number.

means collectively any online facilities, tools, services or information that Helen Taylor Author makes available through the Web Site or App either now or in the future;

means any online communications infrastructure that Helen Taylor Author makes available through the Web Site or App either now or in the future. This includes, but is not limited to, web-based email, message boards, live chat facilities and email links;

"User" / "Users"

means any third party that accesses the Web Site and is not employed by Helen Taylor Author and acting in the course of their employment; and

"Web Site"

Helen Taylor Author may collect, without limitation, any of the following Data:

  • Title, Forename and Surname;

  • Email address;

  • Telephone number;

  • Address;

  • a list of URLS starting with a referring site, your activity on this Web Site, and the site you exit to (automatically collected); and

  • Cookie information (see clause 10 below).

Data processor, data controller and processing of your personal data.

Helen Taylor Author is the Data Controller and we process the Personal Data you provide to us.  For any questions, actioning your rights detailed in section 4 or any other aspect of how we process your Personal Data not detailed within this policy please contact us at helentaylorauthor@outlook.com

The data you provide contacting us is used for the sole basis of providing the service you have signed up for.

The basis and purpose of the processing of the data you provide is to enable you to:

  • Keep updated with the progress of your reported issue by those responsible for resolving it.

Any Personal Data you submit within creating an account will be retained by Helen Taylor Author for as long as you hold an account with us and until you request your account and its data be removed by us.  All personal Data is stored securely in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and the Data Protection Act 2018. For more details on security, see clause 7 below.

Any or all of the above Data may be required by us from time to time in order to provide you with the best possible service and experience when using our Web Site or Apps. Specifically, Data may be used by us for the following reasons:

  • internal record keeping;

  • improvement of our products / services;.

Your Rights with respect to the Personal Data we hold.

Consent - You may access certain areas of the Web Site without providing any Data at all. However, to use all Services and Systems available on the Web Site or our app you may be required to submit Account information or other Data.  By providing that Personal Data and using the services you consent to the processing of your Personal Data in accordance with the terms laid out in section 3 above.

Cookies - You may restrict your internet browser’s use of Cookies. For more information see section 8 below.

Right of Access - You may access your Account at any time to view or amend the Data. You may need to modify or update your Data if your circumstances change. You have the right to obtain from Helen Taylor Author confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you is being processed by us, and, where that is the case, be provided with a copy of that personal data.  Requests for Right of Access should be made via helentaylorauthor@outlook.com.  We will provide that information within 1 month of receipt of the request or provide a reason why we can’t within 1 month.  Where the request is excessive, repetitive or more than one copy is requested we reserve the right to make a charge commensurate with the resources required to meet the request.  The right to obtain a copy referred to above shall not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.

Right to Rectification – You have the right to request from Helen Taylor Author the rectification of any of your personal data that is inaccurate.  Requests for Right to Rectification should be made via helentaylorauthor@outlook.com.  We will rectify the information within 1 month of receipt of the request or provide a reason why we can’t within 1 month. 

Right to Erasure (‘Right to be forgotten’) – You have the right to request from Helen Taylor Author the deletion of your personal data.  Requests for the Right to Erasure should be made via helentaylorauthor@outlook.com.  We will remove all Personal Data held within 1 month of receipt of the request or provide a reason why we can’t within 1 month.  

Right to Restriction of Processing – You have the right to request from Helen Taylor Author that your Personal Data is not processed when any one of the following applies:

  1. the accuracy of the personal data is contested by you, for a period enabling us (the controller) to verify the accuracy of the personal data;

  2. the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of your personal data and request the restriction of its use instead;

  3. we no longer need the personal data for the purposes of the processing, but it is required by you for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;

Requests for the Right to Restriction of Processing should be made via helentaylorauthor.co.uk.  

Right to Withdraw Consent – You have the right to request from Helen Taylor Author that your Personal Data is removed and no longer consent to it being processed.  Requests for the Right to withdraw Consent should be made via helentaylorauthor@outlook.com.  We will remove all Personal Data held within 1 month of receipt of the request or provide a reason why we can’t within 1 month and will not process further any data already held.  The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Right to Complain to the Supervisory Authority – You have the right to complain to the Supervisory Authority if you feel your rights under the General Data Protection Regulations have been infringed.  Complaints should be made to the UK Supervisory Authority which is the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and you can find more information about raising a concern or complaint here https://ico.org.uk/concerns/​

Data security is of great importance to Helen Taylor Author and to protect your Data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure Data collected online.
